What is it about love which makes us all forget everything about everything? Falling in love makes us believe that time has stopped for that instant and yet lasts a lifetime. We dream of dreams and endless thoughts that could make us float away into unending euphoria. Nothing else in the world matters because we are enchanted by the feeling of sweet desires that had overcome the very being of our thoughts. Our heart succumbed to the joy our mind created and there’s no changing it.
But what is love? How do we explain what love is? Is it something seen like the beauty of sunset that casts a golden glow afar into the ocean while overlooking it on a balcony with the waves washing ashore. Maybe love is something touched as if caressing a soft silky, satin. Soft and smooth, glossy and silky, and perfectly weaved threads. Maybe love tasted like a sweet delicatessen or simply like biting on a sweet chocolate where it just turns it all into bliss.
What if love is something heard? Like a heavenly voice of a divine angel singing upon us from the great above. What about smell? Love could be that aromatic scent from the dew hour of morning where the scent from a fresh spring season brings the fragrant flowery buds.
How does the senses of a human being even tell what love is. According to William Shakespeare in A Midsummer’s Nights Dream, “Love looks not with the eyes, but with the mind, and therefore is wing’d cupid painted blind.” To love someone is beyond what eyes sees or what meets the eye. Love is about the heart which encompasses emotional connection instead of physical attraction. Based on the quote, it seems that love has nothing to do or has any real connection to any humanly sensations. Some believe that love is a force that pulls things together. That love found in a relationship is bound by the emotional attraction that is generated by the force within the passion and excitement produced by the sensations felt inside. Some call this as metaphysical gravity.
